How is the half cover protected from theft?
The cover is secured to your vehicle using padded ribs on the underside of the cover. These are trapped inside the closed doors and trunk so that the cover cannot be removed without unlocking and opening the car.
Are these half covers waterproof?
Our half covers are made from a Poly-Urethane-coated woven polyester, and are waterproof. However, since the weather is unpredictable and harsh on anything fabric, we recommend regular cleaning and maintenance of your fabric roof protector to help preserve its colour and water-proofing ability. This is as easy as washing your car’s soft top: STEP 1 – use a gentle car shampoo; STEP 2 – apply a fabric protectant (Full instructions provided with your cover).
How should I store the cover?
The cover should be dried out before being stored in the storage bag.
Can I use my cover on a towed vehicle?
We do not recommend using a cover on a towed vehicle or an open trailer. In addition to the flapping of the cover on the vehicle's paint finish, road dirt and debris may become trapped between the cover and the finish, causing damage to your paint.
Will a half cover scratch my car?
None of the materials we use to make our covers will scratch your vehicle. However, it is important that the cover is used properly, i.e. used on a clean vehicle, and that the magnets sewn in to the edge of the cover to secure it down are not dragged in to place when installing or removing your cover.
Can I use my cover when it’s windy?
Our covers provide a snug fit on your vehicle, and attach via padded ribs trapped inside the doors, as well as magnets along the edge of the cover, so they will stay put under normal wind conditions. Like any fabric, a car cover is susceptible to the wind, and although these are relatively heavy covers that perform well in windy areas, storm and wind damage is not covered by our warranty.
Protecting from moisture?
Under normal usage our half covers protect your soft top from all sorts of weather, tree sap, dirt, stray cats and the like. We recommend checking for moisture under your cover regularly, and removing and “airing out” your soft top and cover. The time frame for this is dependant on local weather conditions and humidity in your area, so there is no hard and fast rule here. If moisture becomes trapped underneath the cover for too long it can result in mold and bacteria formation that can fog your paintwork, or create water spots. North American Custom Covers is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use or misuse of our half covers.
Can I use my cover on a wet vehicle?
We do not recommend using your cover on a wet vehicle for any more than a day or so, for the reasons given above in "Protecting from moisture?”
What if my cover freezes?
In very cold weather, if you have not taken the precaution to air out the cover regularly, it is possible a wet cover could freeze to your car. Do not remove your car cover if it has frozen to your vehicle – you risk damage to both the vehicle and to the car cover. The car cover must be thawed before removal. This process can be expedited by pouring warm water over the cover. Please take precautions as you remove the cover as any damage is not covered by our warranty.
Folding and storing your half cover
If you fold your half cover methodically, and in a tidy fashion, the cover if much easier to reinstall the next time.
Fold each side up onto the roof, and then fold the front and rear portion of the cover on to the roof. You now have approximately a 3 ft x 3 ft square. From one side, fold a third of the cover in to the middle, and then from the other side, fold the other third in to the middle. The cover can now be folded from front to back, to a size suitable for the storage bag.
The cover should be dried out before being stored in the storage bag for more than a day or so, to prevent the build up of mold if the cover is folded when wet.
Do you supply a product warranty?
All our products come with a 6 month warranty against manufacturer defects. Should you notice a manufacturing fault, please contact us immediately to arrange a return / replacement. Usage of our half covers is at the sole risk and discretion of the user. North American Custom Covers is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use or misuse of a car cover.

I purchased this half cover for my 2004 BMW Z4 Roadster, and it’s exceeded my expectations. The fit is excellent and looks like it was truly designed for the car rather than being a generic universal cover.
One feature I especially appreciate is the way it secures to the vehicle. The rear section closes inside the trunk, and the side mirror openings use Velcro closures, so the cover stays firmly in place without straps hanging underneath the car. It’s quick to install and remove, making it practical enough to use regularly.
The cover does a great job protecting the convertible top, windshield, and interior from the sun, pollen, bird droppings, tree sap, and morning dew. It’s much more convenient than using a full car cover when the car is parked outside for a day or two.
The material feels durable, the stitching is well done, and the overall quality is excellent. As someone who enjoys maintaining my BMW, this has become one of those accessories that simply makes ownership easier.
If you’re looking for a well-made, vehicle-specific half cover for your Z4, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one.
Purchased this cover for my 2008 BMW Z4 convertible to use while we are snow birds in Florida this winter. My car sits outside in the driveway with sun most of the day. I didn’t want the sun to fade my cabriolet top or roast the inside of the car. Original top is still in great condition. Wow, great purchase! Cover fits nice, secures easy and protects the top beautifully from debris, dust, rain and UV rays. Stays in place great between mirror teathers, magnets and tucking into trunk (if needed). Most days tucking into the trunk is not necessary as the cover stays put in light to moderate winds. Had a few days when wind was 25-40mph where I did need to tuck it into trunk but when I did, it didn’t move. Also, it fully covers all the glass, wipers and most of the plastic between windshield and hood. Glass stays cleaner and the full coverage of glass keeps UV off leather seats and interior. Also keeps the interior much cooler even when in full sun. Easier and faster than interior sunshade. It literally takes less than a minute to remove or install. I just fold it loosely and lay it in the trunk. Another bonus is you can wash your car and not soak the top if it’s clean. Simply wash with the cover on. For me, exactly what I needed to protect the top while we stay in Florida during the winter. So far after two months the cover is holding up although it is fading a bit. Great product overall.
Got this because South Louisiana. Just bought this 05 e85m54b30 Z4. Im rehabbing rough, but need 3 sunny days when im off for 2 of them.
Anyway, it fit great, easy to install, roof was completely dry after several hours of rain, 1.5" to 2.5" total. Take off time was faster, which was great because it was raining!
Dring it now in the shower. I love this thing! I hope it lasts, and I know thats partially up to me. Read the literature for install and care.
Im a believer, so far! I'll only update if that changes. Otherwise I hope to re-order because im hopong my car outlasts this cover by many years! Ha!

Unbelievably fast service, great quality.
I have just ordered my 3rd half cover from this company and in my opinion they are the best half covers out there. There are a few caveats however. The seams will leak just a bit. Not major leaks, but it will not be bone dry underneath the cover when it rains. Also, when it gets hot outside, the black cover absorbs heat and will be very hot underneath in direct sun. This is important when the sun comes out after a rain shower. The heat combined with moisture beneath the cover will fade any dark plastic the cover comes in contact with. In my case, it was the back window border. It rained in the morning and the sun came out for the afternoon and it was a very hot day. I'm now more careful when and how long I keep the cover on. I have had this cover on in a rain storm where we received 4 inches of rain and the underside of the cover was a bit damp, but the interior of the car was absolutely dry. In my area, we have had 24 inches of rain since January and my car was covered during every rainstorm with the same results. I do recommend this cover.
Had the cover for two weeks; easy to put on and take off. Good quality. So far meets my needs.
