Installing your car cover
Cover the roof and windows first, and put the mirrors in the mirror pockets if applicable, and install the front and rear bumpers last.
Outdoor weather protection
All our outdoor full-coverage car covers are waterproof, however we use different materials depending on the specific car cover you choose to purchase. An outdoor car cover offers various degrees of weather protection from dust, dirt, UV rays, rain, snow, and even light hail, please see the individual listing description for more information.
Folding and storing your car cover
If you fold your cover methodically, and in a tidy fashion, the cover if much easier to reinstall the next time.
Fold each side up onto the roof, and refold as necessary so the material ends up about the same width as the depth of the bag supplied with the cover. Now, from the front of the vehicle, fold the cover towards the back in approximately two feet lengths. This avoids dragging the cover over the vehicle paintwork, and makes it easy to reverse the process for re-installation.
Fold the cover one final time, if necessary, to fit bag in the storage bag. The cover should be dried out before being stored in the storage bag for more than a day or so, to prevent the build up of mold if the cover is folded when wet.
Can I use my cover when it’s windy?
Our covers provide a snug fit on your vehicle, and are provided with underbody straps, so they will stay put under normal wind conditions. Like any fabric, a car cover is susceptible to the wind, and our heavier covers will perform better in windy areas. Storm and wind damage is not covered by our warranty.
Hot exhaust pipes
Allow the exhaust pipe(s) to cool down completely before installing your cover. If the exhaust has not sufficiently cooled, you may damage the cover and/or create a fire hazard. North American Custom Covers are not responsible for such damage and therefore this is not covered by our warranty.
Can I use my cover on a towed vehicle?
We do not recommend using a cover on a towed vehicle or an open trailer. In addition to the flapping of the cover on the vehicle's paint finish, road dirt and debris may become trapped between the cover and the finish, causing damage to your paint.
Will a car cover scratch my car?
None of the materials we use to make our covers will scratch your vehicle. However, it is important that the cover is used properly, i.e. used on a clean vehicle. When car covers are installed on dirty cars, dirt can rub against the paint, causing fine lines in the finish. We always recommend a quick rinse or dusting prior to installing a car cover.
Protecting from moisture?
Under normal usage car covers protect your vehicle from all sorts of weather, tree sap, dirt, stray cats and the like. All our car covers are breathable, however in order for moisture to evaporate through the material there must be a temperature differential between the underside and topside of the cover. This can cause moisture underneath the cover to become trapped if the cover is not removed on a regular basis to allow the car and cover to "air out”, and can result in mold and bacteria formation that can fog your paintwork, or create water spots. North American Custom Covers is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use or misuse of a car cover.
Can I use my cover on a wet vehicle?
No, we do not recommend using your cover on a wet vehicle, for the reasons given above in "Protecting from moisture?”
What if my cover freezes?
In very cold weather, if you have not taken the precaution to air out the cover regularly, it is possible a wet cover could freeze to your car. Do not remove your car cover if it has frozen to your vehicle – you risk damage to both the vehicle and to the car cover. The car cover must be thawed before removal. This process can be expedited by pouring warm water over the cover. Please take precautions as you remove the cover as any damage is not covered by our warranty.
How to wash your car cover
Spot cleaning can be done using a mild detergent. We do not recommend machine washing any of our car covers. Hand wash in a large basin using lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Swish around the cover and rub the material together to clean extra dirty areas. Thoroughly rinse in cool water and air dry.
Product warranty
All our products come with a 6 month warranty against manufacturer defects. Should you notice a manufacturing fault, please contact us immediately to arrange a return / replacement. Usage of our car covers is at the sole risk and discretion of the user. North American Custom Covers is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use or misuse of a car cover.

I purchased another cover that said it worked with the Westy high top. It did not! No way to send it back either....totally scammed. Sealskin covers avoid them! The new cover is the best one I have had in years. I went through 2 other covers and they last for a couple years and shred. NA Custom cover fits snug and has great zippers and Velcro where you can open your barn door! Well designed and engineered. Hopefully it will last but I am very pleased that it was tall enough to cover my 1985 VW Westphalia camper!
Purchased for a 1987 VW Westfalia for winter storage in Alberta. Fit is snug so hopefully cover does its job …will know come May next year. So far so good.

Vw baywindow cover

Unknowingly, I bought one of these via another source 10-12 years ago. It served me well in our temperate climate, finally succumbing to UV damage. I can tell you that the reflective water resistant coating gradually wore off over those years. But for keeping "environmental fallout" off my pop-top camper Bus (my primary concern) it's been flawless, and it is so lightweight and breathable that it takes only a short time for both the cover and Bus below to be totally dry after the rain stops. Especially if there's a breeze.
I unhesitatingly reordered a replacement from the other source - not realizing they have switched to a different vendor/version that, while excellent quality, is a far heavier material which is bulky and cumbersome to install and store. Am pushing 60 and was absolutely exhausted after wrestling it on!
Thank heaven I was able to find this again here! Wasn't 100% sure until my order arrived yesterday. Now I am ordering another one RIGHT NOW to have when Mother Nature takes its toll on the first one.
FYI's : a) There is no hole, or knockout for a hole, for a stock side-mount antenna. I used a red hot philips screwdriver to make a hole for mine - then stitched a reinforcement patch around it. b) I have a front mounted spare, and this cover accommodates it easily.
This cover fits my 1976 VW Transporter Van great and appears to be of good quality. The last cover I purchased from somewhere else split during high winds after only a year in service. I particularly like the undercarriage straps and clips that hold the cover in place from side-to-side and front-to-back. I also got a better price on the North American Custom Covers website than I did on Amazon Prime. Go figure.
And the customer service was exemplary! Highly recommend North American Customer Covers!

Been looking for a cover for my bus this is an excellent product.
Had on since the beginning of winter and have had lots of snow. Seems to be holding up well.
So far so good. Needed a fitted cover for the bus as I was going to leave it outside for the winter (southern Ontario) but ended up in unheated indoor storage. Product arrived well ahead of schedule. Much easier to put on with 2 people. Might be a challenge single handed. Also did not have to deal with any wind. Product itself appears durable (I only just using it for the first time so do not know it will last for years). There is no soft lining on the interior so sweating may be an issue. Product fir is excellent. There are 3 straps to hold in place but I’m not using them. I would recommend for cost and quality (so far for quality) especially if you are using for indoor storage.

A very snug fit for our 1982 Westfalia, almost too small. One of the seams tore as we tried to pull the cover down over the front bumper. The material is very thin. Time will tell how long this cover will last.

Elle ne respire pas ce qui favorise la formation de rouille; les instructions fournies par le vendeur disent de la retirer à tous les mois pour faire sécher la toile et le véhicule car il va se former de l'humidité entre les deux.Il n'y a pas de doublure à l'interieur de la toile pour protéger la peinture du véhicule; le vendeur recommande de bien laver et sécher le véhicule avant chaque installation pour éviter que le véhicule soit trop égratigné lorsque le vent souffle sur la toile.
